When you call, you’ll speak to a team of healthcare professionals like nurses, paramedics, advisors, and doctors who can help you figure out what to do. They can also provide information and advice on prescription medicines or set you up with a virtual appointment with a doctor.
The service is available to everyone, including:
- people who don’t speak English as their first language
- deaf or hearing-impaired individuals
- people who need help due to disability.
If you need a translator or an interpreter, they’ll arrange for one to assist you.
They also have a team of Māori clinicians available during certain hours of the day who are experienced in providing culturally safe health advice.
